we fought
with the force
of tectonic plates on a fault line
leaving behind a mountain
unwilling to be forgotten or ignored

where once the terrain lay quiet and untroubled
survives a buckled and impassable mass

monument of you and me -
everlasting testament
to the violent clashes
of its creation
