Emerson College is an adult education center in rural Sussex which developed out of the work or Rudolf Steiner (1861 -1925). The college runs a six week residential creative writing program, "Healing the Word" in January, and a twelve week program, "Words in the World," starting in April. Each year the college hosts "Poetry Otherwise," a week long poetry workshop programme with many guest teachers, and there are other weekend course through the year. The coordinator for all the creative writing courses is Paul Matthews, author of Sing Me the Creation (Hawthorn Press) and The Ground That Love Seeks (Five Seasons Press).
