Author Biography
Elizabeth Barrette
Elizabeth Barrette lives in central Illinois with her partner, Doug. An avid wordsmith, she works as a writer and editor, doing articles, essays, short stories, reviews, interviews, poetry, and more. Her main fields include speculative fiction, gender studies, and alternative religions. She serves as Managing Editor of PanGaia and Assistant Editor of SageWoman, and she selects the poetry for both of these magazines. In 2003, she won the Poet Laureate Competition at Sol Magazine. Publication credits include the articles "Anthimeria: Verbing Weirds Language" in Sol Magazine and "Do Women and Men Really Write Differently?" in Internet Review of Science Fiction; and poems "Autumn, Late Afternoon" in Gray's Sporting Journal and "Origami Emotion" in the upcoming anthology The Impossible Will Take a Little While. Her favorite pastimes include haphazard gardening, studying obscure languages, and questioning authority. |
