The Shed

Outside our house,
stood a shed,
when I was four.

When I was four,
I had a dream.
I dreamed I knew
what was inside
that shed.

A pink house my size,
table and chairs,
windows in reach,
sunflowers
painted on the walls.

Outside our house,
stood a shed,
when I was four.
It bore a sign.

When I was four,
I could not read.
I did not ask.
I did not know it said, 'Keep Out!
High Voltage.'
